An Introduction to Primary Sources

According to the glossary of the Society of American Archivists (SAA), a primary source is "[m]aterial that contains firsthand accounts of events and that was created contemporaneous to those events or later recalled by an eyewitness."
Examples of primary sources held by the Bentley Historical Library include:
