- Archival documents are stored in climate controlled rooms in rows and rows of metal shelving. Fluctuation in temperature and humidity could destroy the documents.
- All of the boxes and folders that house the collections are made from acid free paper to ensure the preservation of the documents.
- The Bentley Historical Library has, onsite, three floors of materials, for a total of 30,000 linear feet of archives and manuscripts, 60,000 printed volumes, 1.5 million photographs, and more than 10,000 maps.
