Publications of the Bentley Historical Library: Numbered Series
Over the years the Michigan Historical Collections and the Bentley Historical Library have published a number of bibliographies and a series of short monographs. Each of the library's numbered publication series is described here. For a complete list of publications, see the main publications page.
Bibliographical Series
Eleven volumes dating from 1970 to 1988 which cover topics ranging from "The Clergy in Michigan" to "The Polar Bear Expedition: American Intervention in Russia, 1918-1919." As with all bibliographies, some in the series are now somewhat out of date, but they still can provide a useful introduction to the library's holdings. The last title in this series, no. 13, is American Intervention in Northern Russia, 1918-1919 The Polar Bear Expedition, by Leonard A. Coombs (issued February 1988).
Guide Series
A series published beginning in 1996, made up of topical guides to collections such as "Detroit" and "Poliomyelitis and the Salk vaccine." The most recent title in this series, no. 4, is Anthropology and Archaeology: A Guide to Selected Resources in the Bentley Historical Library, by Christine Di Bella (issued June 2004; this title is available online only).
The Michigan Historical Collections and Bentley Library Bulletin
The Michigan Historical Collections and Bentley Library Bulletin is an occasional publication distributed to the Friends of the Library. The most recent title in this series, No. 55, Nancy Bartlett, Nancy Deromedi, Alice Goff, Christa Lemelin, Brian Williams, editors. A Century of Connectivity at the University of Michigan. (December 2007) 35 pages. Available online. For a complete list of titles in the numbered Bulletin series, click here.
