Join us to hear from Assistant Professor of American Culture Bethany Hughes who will lead us through fifty years of Native American student activism at the University of Michigan.

She’ll reveal the issues that prompted the emergence of Native student activism, how students responded, acted, and organized — including the organization of the Native American Student Association — and important ways in which these students had an impact on the University and the university community, including the Michigan Indian Tuition Waiver and the organization Michigamua.
