Jim Smith

One of the most versatile offensive player in Michigan's history. He averaged more than 7-yards running, more than 10 yards on punt returns, more than 20 yards on pass receptions and more than 17 yards on kickoff returns. In all, he gained 2,890 yards during his career. An All-Big Ten performer, his 184 yards gained on pass receptions against Purdue was the second highest in Michigan history. Smith went on to become an outstanding player with the World Champion Pittsburgh Steelers.
