Join us for a meeting of archivists and librarians who teach with primary sources.
The Bentley Historical Library has been working to strengthen its engagement with undergraduates through various initiatives over the past few years.
These initiatives include a grant-funded faculty seminar and research project, a national symposium on Teaching with Undergraduates with Archives in November 2018, and an edited collection of short papers on teaching undergraduates with archives, scheduled for publication by the University of Michigan Press imprint Maize Books by the end of 2019.
As one way of continuing that effort, we’d like to begin a series of state-wide interest group meetings — starting with public universities, and eventually expanding — for archivists and librarians who teach with primary sources.
We have things to share, and are eager to learn from you.
The first meeting will be held June 5, 2020 at the Bentley Historical Library.
In this meeting, you can attend discussions on the following topics:
- Strategies for effective teaching
- Assessment of learning and teaching
- Teaching challenging topics
- Communicating and collaborating with faculty

Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you in June!
