Records Management

Welcome

The Bentley Historical Library is home to the historical records of the University of Michigan. The University Archives preserves records that provide evidence of the policies and decisions chronicling the university’s growth and development, the creation of academic programs, research, student life, the physical campus, and the traditions that comprise the University’s 200-year legacy.

The Bentley collects records that hold historical significance but are no longer in active use in university units. To assist units in the identification of these records, the Bentley launched the Records Management Program in 2016. This program provides recordkeeping support and guidance for the university community for all stages in the records and information lifecycle.
