Richard Doyle
1926, Center
Richard Doyle earned Michigan's first All-America honors for his play in the 192/26 season. Doyle captained coach E.J. Mather's 192/26 team to 12- overall record and 8-4 mark in the Big Ten, earning a share of the conference title. Playing both the center and guard positions, Doyle averaged .3 points per game for the season (the team averaged 29.2). Doyle was also an outstanding track and field athlete, winning the conference title in the shop put in 1924 and the discus in 1926. He placed third in the discus at the National Intercollegiates in both 192 and 1926.
