Bill Daley came to Michigan from Minnesota as a Marine Corps trainee. The nation's fourth best ground gainer in 1943, his tremendous speed and power helped the Wolverines to tie with Purdue for the Conference title. Averaged nearly seven yards per play, and scored 57 points against the greatest lines in the country.
