University of Michigan Football All-American

John Elliott

Offensive Tackle, 1986, 1987

John Elliott

One of the largest players ever to play for Michigan, Elliott (6-7, 306), a two time All- American by AP, UPI, and Kodak, played on the strong side of the line for four years. His final game was the 1988 Hall of Fame Bowl when he led the ground assault by opening huge holes for the running backs, including Jamie Morris who rushed for 234 yards and three touchdowns behind that line. From Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y., Elliott was called "Jumbo" by his teammates. He was a first round draft pick of the New York Giants.
