Linebacker, 1970
A premier linebacker in the Big Ten for two seasons, the Toledo product was equally adept at stopping the run or pass. His first interception as a sophomore resulted in a 44- yard touchdown. In three seasons he made nine pass interceptions, returning them 159 yards. He scored a touchdown on a blocked punt, had 266 career tackles, called defensive signals and was awarded the John Maulbetsch Trophy as the top freshman player.
