Ron Johnson

One of the greatest football players in University of Michigan history. Broke virtually all school rushing records - setting eight in Big Ten. His 347 yards gained in 1968 against Wisconsin was an NCAA high. Won the Chicago Tribune's Silver Football as Big Ten's Most Valuable Player after setting a conference record with 1,021 yards in 1968. Set Michigan season (1,391) and career (2,440) rushing records. Scored more points in a season (92), more touchdowns (5) and more points (30) in a game than any player at that point in Big Ten history. All-American halfback - twice voted Michigan's most valuable player. Elected captain of the 1968 team. Voted Big Ten's most valuable player and state's Amateur Athlete of Year in 1968.
