In keeping with Michigan's tradition of big, powerful and versatile linemen, this native of Flint was named first-team All-American by College Sports magazine. Foregoing his final year of eligibility for the NFL draft, Runyan was named first-team All-Big Ten and finished his career with 34 starts (24 at tackle, 10 at guard). He was a fourth round pick of the Houston Oilers in 1996.
