Michigan Political Parties: Socialist Parties
Various socialist parties have been active in Michigan since at least 1896, when Lester H. Chappel was the Socialist Labor candidate for governor.
Socialist parties in Michigan are documented in the papers of Angela Morgan, Ralph W. Muncy (State Central Committee member of the Socialist Labor Party and Socialist Reconstruction), James E. Walker (Socialist candidate for governor), and a number of periodicals.
