University of Michigan Football All-American

Ernest Allmendinger

Guard, 1917

Ernest Allmendinger

Quick and powerful, "Aqua" Allmendinger often led interference from his guard position. A team-mate of Johnny Maulbetsch both at Ann Arbor High School and Michigan in 1911-12-13, he later joined two other Michigan men, Cedric Smith and Frank Culver, on Camp's 1917 All-America Service Eleven. One of "Aqua's" greatest games helped bring Michigan a 17-0 victory over Cornell in 1913.
