One of the finest offensive tackles ever to play for Michigan and a consensus 1970 All- American. He combined strength and speed to become a key blocker as the Wolverines set a series of rushing records. A native of Canton, Ohio, he was twice All-Big Ten and went on to become an all-pro with the St. Louis Cardinals of the National Football League and player representative for the team. He twice was named best offensive lineman of the NFL.
