Miller Pontius

Tackle, 1913

Miller Pontius

A team-mate of Jimmy Craig, Miller "Brute" Pontius became an All-American tackle after earning All-Western honors at end in 1912. Perhaps his greatest game was against Pennsylvania in 1913, when Collier's Magazine's football expert said of him, "He was aggressive against Pennsylvania, playing both end and tackle. He showed a thorough knowledge of the game and always crashed into the point of rival attacks."
