Michigan in the Civil War
Gleason, Theodore H., 1844-1862.
Two letters (1862) written by Corporal Gleason while he was serving in Company B, 4th Michigan Cavalry. He tells how the troops were treated along the route from Detroit to Jeffersonville, of chasing Bragg's army, and of seeing the battlefield at Perryville just after the battle. Gleason, of Duplain, Mich., died of disease in October of 1862.
