Hume, Charles W., 1838-
Fragment of a diary (Feb. 10-23, 1864) with short entries of events occurring on his way home on re-enlistment furlough. Hume was in Company C, 2nd Michigan Infantry (1861-1865). He was taken prisoner at Charles City Cross Roads, Va., in June of 1862, returned to the regiment in August, and re-enlisted in December of 1863. Hume was from Battle Creek, Mich.
