Innes, Robert Strachan., 1834-
Innes, of Grand Rapids, Mich., entered the service in Sept. 1861, in the Michigan Engineers and Mechanics, as first lieutenant and quartermaster, and resigned Dec. 6, 1862. The collection includes two letters (Dec. 12 and 13, 1862). One is from the officers, expressing regret at his leaving the regiment and presenting him with a purse to purchase a watch and chain; the other from the men of the regiment, also expressing their regrets and giving him money to purchase a ring.
