The papers of this attorney and government official include copies of Civil War correspondence of his uncle Austin J.Kendall, who served with the 117th New York Infantry. The collection includes photocopies of typescripts of letters (1862-1865) describing his wartime experiences. He saw service in South Carolina and Virginia, participating in the Petersburg campaign.
