Frank Kingsley, from the family papers
The papers of the family of James Kingsley of Ann Arbor, Mich., include three letters written by James Kingsley giving a graphic account of the battle of Spotsylvania, Va., May 12, 1864, in which his son Frank Kingsley was killed. Frank was in Company H, 20th Infantry, and the captain of his company related the account of the battle to Mr. Kingsley.
