Limbarker, William E., 1835-1863.

A diary (Dec. 3, 1861-Feb. 28, 1862) in which he is concerned mostly with recording letters to and from his wife and his longing to go home. There are brief references to camp duties and life and the weather. Limbarker enlisted in Company F, 4th Michigan Infantry, as sergeant in 1861, was wounded in action in June, 1862, taken prisoner at Gettysburg, and killed October 25, 1863 at Belle Island, Richmond, by an enemy guard while on police duty. Limbarker was from Lenawee County, Mich.
