Macumber family
The collection includes thirteen letters (1863-1864) written by Benjamin C. Macumber to members of his family. There are brief entries about the weather, food, guard duty, with much about his illness. Macumber was in Company G, 23rd Michigan Infantry, as sergeant, 1862-1863, then transferred to Company C, 23rd Regiment Invalid Corps (later Veteran Reserve Corps). Macumber was from Eagle, Mich.
