The collection contains three letters (July 21-Sept. 8, 1861) written by Martin Miner, of Company B, 23rd New York Infantry, from a hospital, concerns the state of his health and his hope to be sent home soon. Also two letters (Oct. 1862 and April 2, 1864) from Daniel V. Miner of Friendship, N.Y., mentioning location of campsites, health of the company, and general news of Rebel activities. Daniel Miner was in Company K, 136th New York Infantry.
