Myres, Eli.

Two letters to his brother, December 10 and 21, 1861, speak of patrolling the countryside, the weather at Camp McKim, and their winter quarters. He was in Company H, 6th Michigan Infantry, and died on board the steamer "Laurel Hill" on the Mississippi River, May 20, 1862. Myres, from Barry County, Mich., is buried in the National Cemetery, Natchez, Miss.
