Alfred Ralph, from Milton Chase papers

One letter (Oct. 26, 1861) written to his brother. He comments on news he has received from home, describes the interior of his quarters, mentions a review of troops. The letter heading is of Camp McKim, Baltimore, which he also describes. The collection also includes one order dated June 30, 1864. Ralph, from Jonesville, Mich., was first lieutenant of Company I and captain of Company B, 6th Michigan Infantry. He was taken prisoner near Manchac Pass, La., April 12, 1863, but released in June.
