Robbins, Richard B., 1831-

Photocopy of reminiscences of the 4th Michigan Cavalry's part in the battle of Chickamauga, given at a reunion eight years later. Robbins was captain of Company F, 4th Michigan Cavalry, at its organization in 1862. He was promoted to major in 1863 and lieutenant colonel by brevet for gallant and meritorious services in action at Kingston, Ga., where he was wounded. He was discharged in 1865. After the war, among other things, he was a patent attorney, mayor of Adrian, Mich., state representative and senator, and U.S. Consul at Ottawa, Canada.
