Michigan in the Civil War
Tucker, John, 1840-1862.
Five letters (Dec. 1861-Feb. 1862) written to friends while he was serving in Company A, 5th Michigan Infantry. The letters are chiefly expressions of his religious faith in the face of possible death in defending his country. One letter describes the funeral of a soldier. Tucker, of Oakland County, Mich., was killed in action at Williamsburg.
