Crapo was a Flint, Mich., industrialist and governor of Michigan, 1865-1868. His papers include correspondence relating to the Civil War's effect on business conditions, drilling of Flint regiments, and about obtaining the release of the 3rd Michigan Cavalry and having them mustered out (Mar. 1866); also notes for speeches to soldiers and clippings relating to Michigan's war effort.
