Papers of the Carr-Stearns family of Whitehall, Mich., and Ypsilanti, Mich.contain papers of Ezra Stearns, who served in the 1st Michigan Engineers and Mechanics Regiment. Stearns's papers include diaries (1861-1863), a fragment of an undated memoir titled "Three Years Campaign of a Private Soldier," and letters.
