Family of Alpheus W. Gustin of Albion, Mich. His son Warren Gustin of Davison, Mich., served with Co. K, 23rd Michigan Infantry during the Civil War. He was taken prisoner Jan. 27, 1864 and released Mar. 1, 1865. Exchange of letters between Warren and Alpheus Gustin (while Warren was in a Baltimore hospital) briefly describing Warren's prison experience and Alpheus's joy at his son's release.
