Root, Randolph.

Randolph Root lived in Perinton, Monroe County, New York, and served in the 140th New York Infantry during the Civil War. He later moved to Lafayette Township, Gratiot County, Michigan. His collection contains letters (1861-1866) describing his military service, including the Battle of Fredericksburg.
