Weener, Walter, d. 1862.
Walter Weener was a resident of Olive, Mich., who served in Co. I, 13th Michigan Infantry. He was killed at the Battle of Stones River. The collection consists of letters to Paulus den Bleyker of Kalamazoo, Mich., describing army life, illness, the aftermath of the Battle of Shiloh, and Weener's Christian attitude toward the war.
