Boies, Albert Hartson, 1844-1930.

Albert H. Boies was a soldier with Co. F, 4th Michigan Infantry during the period 1861-1864. He took part in twenty one battles and was wounded four times. At Gettysburg, he was wounded and taken prisoner by the Twenty-fourth Georgia Infantry, but he later escaped. After the war, he became an ornithologist. The collection contains a diary (1863) contain brief descriptions (in pencil) mainly of the weather and daily activities.
