The papers of the family of Christian F. Kapp, immigrant from Württemberg, Germany, to Northfield Township, Washtenaw County, Mich., and his wife Regina Schlechter Danner Kapp, include letters (June 7-Aug. 1, 1862 and Apr. 22 and Oct. 15, 1865) of her son by a previous marriage, Simon Danner, who served in Company I, 1st U.S. Sharpshooters, and later in Company D, 9th Michigan Infantry.
