Hoffman, Samuel J., 1843-

Three letters (undated) about camp life written to members of his family. Hoffman, from Lapeer County, Mich., was in Company G, 7th Michigan Infantry. The collection also includes one letter (Sept. 28, 1862) written by Charles W. Fulmer to Mr. Hoffman. He tells of the wounding of Samuel Hoffman at the battle of Antietam. Fulmer enlisted in Company G, 7th Michigan Infantry, in 1861, and died in July, 1863, of wounds received in action at Gettysburg.
