Hudson, Charles F., 1838-

Reminiscences, written in 1895 (photocopy only), contain his remembrance of his role in the capture of the Confederate president Jefferson Davis, as well as critical comments on the role Lieutenant Colonel Pritchard played. Hudson was in Company B, 4th Michigan Cavalry (1862-1865) as sergeant, sergeant major, second and first lieutenant and captain; Brevet Major, U. S. Volunteers May 10, 1865 for meritorious service in the capture of Jefferson Davis; Brevet Lieutenant Colonel, U. S. Volunteers June 2, 1865. He was wounded in action at Shelbyville, Tenn., June 23, 1863; transferred to Company E, November 16, 1863; and discharged August 15, 1865.
