Reed, David, 1841 or 2-1862.

A photocopy of one letter (Oct. 11, 1862) written to his brother. He describes a march through the battlefield of Antietam, seeing wounded rebel prisoners, piles of amputated legs and arms, unburied men and horses. Reed, from Hamtramck, Mich., served in Company B, 24th Michigan Infantry, from August 1862 until he was killed at Fredericksburg, Dec. 13, 1862.
