Jon Jansen

Offensive Tackle

Jon Jansen

Jon Jansen, a two-time co-captain from Clawson, Mich., became the 10th Michigan football player and third offensive lineman to earn All-America honors during Lloyd Carr's tenure. A First-Team Al-America honoree by the American Football Coaches Association, Jansen set Michigan's school record by starting 50 games during his four-year career (every game of his playing career at right tackle). He put his talents to good use in the classroom, gaining GTE/CoSIDA Second-Team Academic All-American recognition and receiving Michigan's Big Ten Medal of Honor for his academic and athletic achievements. He was named the Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year in 1998 and claimed his second consecutive First Team All-Big Ten accolades. Jansen was selected by the Washington Redskins with the 37th pick of the second round during the 1999 NFL Draft.
