Cedric C. Smith

Fullback Cedric "Pat" Smith captained Michigan's 1917 team and was named fullback on the All-America squad chosen by Walter Camp. Joining the Navy in 1917 for World War I service, he later transferred to the Army Air Force and played for Selfridge Field. Smith returned to Michigan following his service career, he graduated in 1919 and later played professional football for the Massilon, 0hio, and Buffalo, N.Y. teams against the famous Jim Thorpe and the Canton Bulldogs.
