Transfer Materials to the Archives

Once you have completed the paperwork, send it to UMrecords@umich.edu for review.

If boxes need to be picked up, we will make arrangements with either Metro Delivery (~15 boxes or less) or with Moving and Trucking. Boxes should be clearly and securely labeled. 

 

Once we receive the materials, we will accession them into the Bentley holdings. Accessioning is the process of completing the custodial transfer of materials from your unit to the Bentley. During this process, we begin the work of archival processing by establishing rudimentary physical and intellectual control over the content. Upon completion of the accession, you will receive a receipt of transfer from the archivist.
